Indonesia Cloves Production in 2016 - 2017 is expected to be around 90,000 Metric Tons, Excluding 5,000 Metric Tons carry forward stocks from the last year crop of 2015 - 2016. Hence bringing the total availability of Cloves from Indonesia up to 95,000 Metric Tons for year 2016 – 2017

ROYAL SPICES is one of the quality benchmark entity successfully exporting Indonesia Cloves. Our investments in Indonesia to secure high quality cloves cargoes and efficient processing, grading and packaging lines are continuously operated to deliver cargoes to Kretek Manufacturers, bulk consumers and distributors worldwide. Our strategically located warehouses and packaging facilities for Indonesia Cloves at farm gate levels located in the South and North Regions of Moluccas Islands and Maluku Islands famously known as Spice Islands of Indonesia ( North and South Sulawesi, Surabaya, Java, Bacan, Ternate, Tidore, and on the West coast of Halmahera including ). Usually we regularly supplying Indonesia Cloves in the local markets of Indonesia to the Kretek manufacturers consuming around 80% of the entire crop production of Indonesia.
Due to the variations in the qualities, we have drawn our quality benchmarks as per the requirement of Kretek Manufacturers for consistent quality cargoes to be supplied all around the year. Our committed quality benchmark starts from the very initial phase, i.e: selection and procurement of high quality raw materials at the farm gate levels and efficient monitoring during the drying and processing of the quality cargoes to obtain minimum moisture levels. Minimum controlled moisture levels obtained in Cloves, results in long lasting color retention and minimum weight loss due to no-moisture content while the stocks can be preserved for at least minimum 2 years with Kretek manufacturer's warehouses and consuming markets. Indonesian cloves production is roughly between 70,000 Metric Tons up to 100,000 Metric Tons depending on the climatic conditions. Whereas, the majority of the production is consumed locally by the Kretek manufacturers ( Clove Cigarettes Manufacturers ) of various local and international brands.
During the process of cleaning, color variation grading and sizing, various Cloves grades are obtained during the cleaning and grading process before packaging. Once our determined quality standards are achieved, Cloves are further processed and classified in accordance with International American Spice Trade Association ( ASTA ) standards, LAL Pari, and most commonly traded FAQ quality standards.
Last but not least, packaging phase is achieved after passing through strict quality controls, diligent and industrious workout. Different packaging options are provided as per the customer needs. The most common packaging used to ship the Cloves from Indonesia are as follows: 50 kg New Jute Bags, 20 Kg Carton Boxes with inner craft paper liner, 10 Kg Carton Boxes with inner craft paper liner and 5 Kg Polyethylene bags. Above standard packaging ( craft paper lining ) also results in retaining the aroma, taste and color for the high quality of cloves. Usually we are loading maximum 7 Metric Tons in 20'ft Container and up to 22 - 24 Metric Tons in 40'ft Container, depending on the packaging requirements.
